Independent Journalist and Correspondent in Belgium
I have returned to my old profession as an Independent Journalist and Correspondent, this time in Brussels, Belgium. Our continent and European Union are facing new challenges while the world around us is rapidly changing under the pressure of globalisation and new political realities at home and overseas. I am reporting about developments within the EU and trends of European Integration, Brexit, Nato and as well social, cultural, economical, and political phenomenas and trends. I’m curious to follow the developing technologies and trends of the business world. As always, I will continue write my human interest features about real life which surrounds me. Europe is an endless source of fascinating ideas to consider and deliver.
Previously, I have been working as an Independent Journalist and Correspondent in Copenhagen, Denmark, from 1995 to 1999 and in New York City from 1999 to 2010.
From 2011 to early spring 2017, I worked in Helsinki, Finland, as an editor of Newsbrokers Silent Reportage™ -publications. Those reports were strictly Journalistic fact finding projects about topics to which companies and organisations requested to research specifically for their internal considerations. Some of these papers were given to the public, and those reportages were repeatedly used as news sources by the main newspapers and tv-news in Finland.
Based on the Journalists accreditation objectivity rules in Belgium and EU, I do the media work only for news organisations.
In January 2017 I was elected to the Chairman of the Association of the Finnish Foreign Affairs Journalists.
